My transfer case has been drained of oil for a while (truck is down while I work on various things). I recently bought a cheap borescope from Amazon and decided to run it through the drain plug opening and fill plug opening to check the condition of whatever parts I could see. The scope is really quite good and shows a lot of detail, and in color, and I could see what appeared to be general surface rust on all parts, as well as rust pits and other pits that did not look rusty (maybe some galling taking place). Most of the parts I could see were gears, and there were pits on the gear tooth faces, along with a layer of solid, dark rust down in the regions between teeth, including the gear tooth fillet radii, indicating much more than just surface rust in those areas.

Based on all of this, I think I should plan for a rebuild at some point in the not-too-distant future. I don't see parts in that condition lasting too terribly long, especially with the hopped-up 265 flathead that I'm going to install, and driving sometimes at 55 - 60 mph. Considering the condition of the parts I could see, I imagine just about everything inside looks the same way.

So the question is....where do I find parts for this transfer case (NP200, I believe)? I looked at the Vintage Power Wagons website and the Midwest Military website, and they have some parts available, but definitely not everything needed for a complete rebuild. When the time comes, I will call these sources to get the full story, along with Dave Cirillo, but in the meantime, I figured I would inquire here to see what you guys can tell me about parts sources.

Thanks.
