Wow, hauling 2.5 tons plus a 1-ton trailer at 60mph is pretty impressive. I have to say I'm looking forward to whenever I get my 265 going. It will have a few performance mods and a good balance job as well, so it should really do well. Like you, I have 4.89 differential gearing, and I also have 11.00 x 16 tires and lockout hubs in front. At 60, I calculated that my engine will be turning about 2850 rpm, which should be reasonably comfortable for it
