I looked through all of my manuals, and only the one for the M37 (TM 9-8031-2) says anything about tie rod end nut torque. It says the nut torque is supposed to be 130 - 150 ft-lbs, but a search of the forum archives produced only one result, in which it was stated that a different manual, specifically for a Power Wagon, provides a value of 40 ft-lbs. I can't imagine the size of nut or ball stud in the M37 tie rod end is that much different from that of the Power Wagon, and 40 ft-lbs seems rather low for a fastener of that size. The size on my '49 Power Wagon is 5/8".

Can anyone clear this up?
