I would expect the tie rod end to be pretty hard and therefore something like a grade 8. However I pulled the threads off one ony m37. Not sure if it was just a bad part but when I was tightening it just wouldn't get tight. I don't know that I used a torque wrench, I was most likely using a 18" breaker bar so wouldn't be much more than 150 lbs-ft.
