Willy,

Just thought I'd let you know that I ended up buying the 1st/2nd gear from a place called Northwestern Transmission. They have brand NEW gears in stock for many very old transmissions. These people have managed to get a hold of the original engineering blueprints for many of the old vehicles' transmissions dating back to the 1930's, and they are reproducing the gears for them. I don't know if they would have a cluster gear for this tranny or not.

The gear I bought was in perfect condition (and I am very picky), but it cost $150, whereas I had bought a NOS gear from someone else for $75, but it was slightly corroded and had lots of deep dings and dents on the faces of most of the teeth. It looked like these dents were from the factory, believe it or not. I figured an additonal $75 was worth my piece of mind.

I don't have the number for Northwest Transmission here, but if you like, I can look for it at home and let you know what it is.

VPW used to have cluster gears, and might still.

Matt
