I need to build a rotisserie for my cab. Most, if not all the home built rotisseries or push over jugs use the door frame attachment areas as the attachment areas for the homemade jig. I am hesitant to take the doors off for any length of time because right now, they fit perfectly with fairly good gaps and they open and close well. My guess is the fitment of the doors right now is what is helping to keep the cab is good alignment, especially since the floorpan is in such rotten shape. And I want to weld in as few temporary cross pieces as possible because they will make it very difficult to weld the floorpan inside the cab, especially with the rotisserie supports taking up space in the door space.

If I built a rotisserie that rotates along the same axis as a regular car body rotisserie, there is no place to attach it in the rear of the cab unless I start welding supports on the cab rear itself.

So, here are my options as I see it.

1) Weld an interior cage to stay the alignment, build a rotisserie using a couple cheap engine stands on each side of the cab and using the door hinge attachment points as attachment for the rotisserie. Once the door frame supports are attached, remove the interior cage to have access to the interior floorpan.

2) Build a push over jig using 2x4s and plywood using the door hinge attachment points, and a interior welded cage.

3) Use one 2000 lb capacity engine stand and mount it to the cowl. Build some foot extensions using rect. tube steel and casters to keep the stand from tipping over.

I am leaning toward the 3rd option so that I can take off and replace one door at a time, and the "rotisserie" will be almost completely out of the way when fabricating and welding floorpan portions.

What do you think?
