Message:   Thanks for all the posts!! When I near the Buffalo area I will call up John for sure. My rig is going a gentleman named Mike (I never met a Mike I didn't like) who lives in Tonawanda outside of Buffalo. Mike told me that he just installed a temperature controlled system for the special garage specifically for the Power Wagon!! He mentioned something about oiling up the metal as a rust preventative as well. He promises NEVER to drive on salted roads. That of course is up to him. I do hope he takes care of it though!! When the trip is done, I'll send the pics and story over to Gordon at PWA for his consideration. He's a great guy and I enjoy his magazine every month... spoke with him on the phone a few times and hope to meet him someday.

I started the day out in central Utah. What I missed the previous night due to darkness was certainly made up for today! Beautiful state. My strategy was to find towns off the beaten path a bit. There's no fun in staying in a motel right off the freeway. Plus you get better rates in towns and much better service.

I didn't make a whole lot of people friends today but I made a few animal friends. I asked a neighbor if I could feed the horses in the photo and the horses became my new buddies!! If you look closely, you can see hay slobber in the front horse's mouth. They loved me!! LOL.

I also caught a first hand glimpse of the new Challenger... they are being delivered to some lucky chaps!

The truck is running like a champ. I've only been getting around 12 mpg averaging 68 mph. (383, 4 spd, 3:55 gearing) Now that I'm done with those 6% grade climbs through the rockies, I hope to do a bit better on the mileage.

I'm getting ready to bed down for the night here just outside Denver. I can't wait 'til morning to see what the city looks like!!
