Good advice. That’s what actually kind of surprised me about that Smittybilt 18k winch I had. I didn’t install an isolator charging the battery on my trailer & so without it you’re always going to be winching with a low battery & there’s pretty much nothing worse for them than that. As a matter of fact I think you got to witness it first hand when we were winching the W300 on my deck in the snow with a low battery…no? :) :)
On a trailer having an isolator & charging your battery direct from your alternator is pretty much the best money spent.
