Thanks Greg. I'll check into that. If the issue is just the check valve, would Bob's suggestion of an in-line valve work? Or, is the fact that cranking the starter is not enough to get gas up to the carb and indication that the fuel pump is just not pumping well, period, and needs to be replaced. It's probably the original pump from 1966.
