I've got a WC40 (half ton). The front end is on blocks with the wheels off the ground for other work. I recently replaced all steering parts and adjusted the knuckle bearings.

I just tried moving the wheels side to side and I wasn't strong enough to move them. It would take a lot of effort to make the steering wheel follow through that worm gear.
