So, I live in Vermont and travel reasonably often through New York and the Eastern seaboard. Most states have toll roads and most accept Easypass. Lately, they have been removing toll booths and setting up lots of cameras. If you don't have an Easypass, they take a picture of your plate and mail you a bill.
I have a dedicated Easypass transponder that is registered for 4 axles that I display when trailering.
I have received three fines recently, one each in New York, New Jersey and Maryland, each accompanied with a photo of my Power Wagon's license plate, while ON the trailer! They also read the transponder and charged the proper toll. After lots of time on hold, and several calls and letters, we have gotten them waived but its not easy. Nobody at any of the toll places seem to have any suggestions of how to avoid it but from now on, I am going to be covering the plate of any truck that is on my trailer.
