Hello everyone - I am finally getting to my Power Wagon project. The cab and bed have a nice patina that I had hoped to save, but the more I work on it, the less likely it seems I will be able to. There are quite a few cracks and cuts in the sheet metal that will need to be welded. In addition, a previous owner welded in a rear bumper along with uprights welded to the bed sides to stabilize them. I carefully cut all this away with cutting wheels and grinders and removed the steel plate in the bed. The wood floor is not bad (it's complete) but will need to be redone, and that includes the angles that are spot welded to the bed sides. Not sure how to replace those without leaving a row of burn marks in the paint on the outside. Fenders need a lot of work, so planned on repainting those in a semi-gloss black.

So what do you think, preserve the patina or go ahead and repaint the whole truck?
