You could use a spot weld cutter to remove the bed angles, without going all the way through. Then prep the area and attach new angles with body panel adhesive (Lord Fusor, for example). It’s supposed to be stronger than spot welds, and No heat! You could also use it to adhere a reinforcement to the back side of a cracked fender, etc.

Btw, don’t get the cheap (Chinese) spot weld cutters, they look good but are crap. I was working on my 71 Challenger, it needed a trunk pan, roof, firewall, and driver’s floor. I bought a 3 pack of the cheap bits , supposedly M2 tool steel. They lasted about six spot welds each... then I bought a 3 pack of American made bits, probably two or three times the price, but I did the whole rest of the car with only one bit! At least a hundred spot welds.
