Battery cut-off switches seem to be designed to go on the negative post. All the instructions that I've seen regarding any kind of work under the hood seem to say "Disconnect the negative cable before working". 'Seems like the "hot" side would be the preferred disconnect--is there a simple reason why it's not --not that it makes much difference ?
