A Muckcanic perhaps and if he is dumb enough to take the positive off first and blame you I doubt he would do quality work on the rest of the vehicle.
Not only can the battery blow up but it is quite possible to burn the vehicle to the ground. I have seen a wrench go red hot, the battery blow up and most of a wiring harness melt when the wrench did a flash weld to the body of a vehicle.
