Hard Starting after sitting Idle for more than a few

Hello All,
MY WC 1/2 ton is really hard to start after sitting idle for about a week or so. I went to start it after it sat for over a week even putting a little gas down the throat of the carb. It did not fire until the 3rd try which took all of at least 10 min. Funny thing is, after that it starts up fine. Have been using it the past couple of days and no starting problems at all. I will check my ignition system, but am thinking it could be fuel related. The truck is under an awning and covered up also, so I doubt there is any moisture getting into the ignition system. Again it is only after sitting for a while. Frustrating.
