Probably a dumb question, but how does one go about measuring their drive shaft angles? Whenever I see someone comment on driveshafts being misaligned, it seems like they are talking about just a couple of degrees or so. That's too small to be seen by eye, and I'm not sure what techniques are used to make such measurements. The first thing that comes to mind is an inclinometer, but I doubt anyone's using one of those. The next thing that comes to mind is measuring distances from reliable reference points on the chassis or on whichever gearboxes we're dealing with at the moment, but I'm not sure how many reliable reference points there are.
