More likely transfer case or U-joint clocking.

In trannys it's usually a bad bearing that makes noise under load. In 4th, there is no load on any bearings, the input gets locked to the output.

But the transfer case, with it's offset output, has loads on the bearings constantly. It's why folks like to convert to centered diff rear ends and use the straight through shaft.

Much harder to rebuild the t/c than the tranny. I'd start with new rubber isolators in the t/c mounts. And shim the mounts to get the correct u-jt angles. 1/4" added to the front mts got all three u-jts to the correct angles on my own truck. That and higher body mounts, we can talk in my truck on the freeway.
