265 vs V-8

I have a question I would like to ask the board. My M-37 has a blown engine. I do know the expense of what a rebuild for the 230 will be. My question is this; I have found a 265 for a decent price. How is the performance of the 265 vs the 230...vs what might be achived in a 318? Would the 265 bolt in without too much altercations? I have been reading the Helitool sight and know what is involved in converting to the V-8. Basically, what I am doing to myself is wondering if I want power over ease of instilation.
