I would go with the 318 conversion mainly

because the engine compartment has a lot

more working room for a V-8 than a WDX-WM300

PW. I would decrease my gear ratio by either

taller tires or changing ring&pinion gears.

The price of new-taller tires and the cost of

ring &pinions for both the front and rear

will be close on cost? taller tires would be

less work but, they would increase the

stress on the axle shafts and clutch. The

good part about using tire size to change

gear ratio is that if you ever needed the

lower gearing for work you could keep the

9:00x16s on a pair of extra rims to quickly

change out.

The 230 and 251 bolt pattern are the same.
