I don't plan to put one on my engine either, but have sometimes wondered if I should. To my knowledge, the 230 and 251 in Power Wagon applications never used a harmonic balancer, and the 265 is really not much of a different design, especially compared to the 251 - just a little longer stroke and shorter rods, so it's probably not necessary.
The question has crossed my mind though, because an engine that needs a balancer, and doesn't have it, will wear prematurely and in more severe cases, can experience crankshaft breakage. It seems like none of that is much of a risk here, though.
