I have found an excellent deal on a 70s vintage ?, looks good condition , Winco 10,000 watt indusrial/portable generator. It is run by a Wisconsin horz.shaft/ in-line 2-cyl gas engine with a mag. dist. Everything seems to work , battery rotates engine but with both plugs out and grounded, it will not spark the plugs while rotating.
Are there some easy things to try or check for when a magneto does not spark the plugs? If I don't get something figured out, it could be sold out from under me but I have no dealings with a magneto system and don't want to invest money in something that might cost too much to have fixed. I'd give the $200 he's asking if I could get it to spark.
Eng. mod. is THD, spec no. 382502, ser.# 6043411 with downdraft carb and oilbath filter. Thanks for any help in this matter.
