If you stick your hand inside the door up to where the lock is, you can feel a ring or flange around the lock, it holds the lock in the door via a flange set screw. The small hole in the door allows you to get to the screw which is small, using a flat tip screwdriver unless the screw has been replaced with another type, or the head is messed up from prior attempts. Chances are you will not be able to get the screw out, they oxidize/rust in place. If you can't get the screw out, you can break it off the flange to get the lock out. Use an insert nut or screw-mount nut and braze it to the flange. That's what I did with mine.
