My experience with cut and polish is also with nitrocellulose lacquer, but with clear and on furniture that I build. There are not too many things more disappointing than getting to 3000 grit and burning through. And since until very recently, like last week, I never owned a sprayer, so I used brush on nitrocellulose.

"Hides imperfections in the panels." Oh. I want a high gloss with no orange peel, for the exact opposite reason. With all the time I put into those buckets, I want to see that there are no imperfections, ..., or at least none that I can see.

"Sure beats the days when I was cutting high end paint jobs with kotex pads and Braso."

Ok, I had never heard that before.

Any advice on the electric polisher? On curves, like the headlight buckets? I sanded down the base coat to 3000 before I applied the clear. Get this, so far, all the base coat and clear applications to parts has been with rattle can. Two part, but rattle can none the less.
