I see he is using one big electric motor with the existing drive train. I was thinking it might be better (lighter?) to use one electric motor for each wheel and then scrap the transmission and transfer case and axles. But then again, the way he is doing it using the existing drive train sure seems a lot easier for a hobbyist to do.
