As the title says, I am in a quandary over the order in which I need to assemble my '54 C1-PW6-126's body on the restored running-driving-stopping chassis. Is it necessary to mount the cab before the bed, or may the bed be safely mounted first.
The body shop has finished the bed. It is in my shop unassembled and wrapped loosely in moving blankets. Other parts will slowly follow, with the cab being the last item, but that may be a year away. The body shop owner plans to mount the cab by raising it with a forklift, and lowering it in place. I know getting the steering column through the cab floor will be a challenge, and I have considered removing the steering wheel, and tilting the column down. However, if the cab needs to be tipped back -I may have a problem. I would appreciate your advice.
