Braden Winches

I recently came across 4 or 5 Braden winches w the gear housing and the remaining controls on the passenger side. I believe they were from 1/2 ton trucks. The engravings were obscured but it appeared they were MU rather than MU2 units. There were no cable guides or angle irons but the drums, shafts and cases although rusty appeared cleanable. Would the worm gear and assoc. guts be of use in an MU-2 if they were in good condition?
