I haven't been around in quite some time, I bought an old farm yard and cleaned up 60 years of mess and had a house/shop built. Now I can finally start playing with my trucks!! First up is add some capability to my yellow truck with the below mods. Next up is to build a truck on the swivel frame I bought from Dan M. I'll be looking for quite a few parts in the near future.

So the first matter at hand...A friend of mine is letting me take the complete front diff assembly out of his 49 frame, along with the rear carrier. The plan is to have the front completely rebuilt with a new set of VPW 4.89's along with ARB air lockers and a 4 wheel disc set up. The goal is to minimize downtime of my truck by doing a complete swap with basically brake lines, U bolts and drive shafts.

The rear in my truck is a centred diff, so I'll just be doing the carrier swap along with the disc conversion.

However, in the PIF Group 1, which I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly shows I might be assuming wrongly based on some 'YES' remarks next to '49-50 diffs and 4.89's and no for later years, but a few lines down the opposite?

I hope this makes sense. Short question is can I rebuild carriers from a '49 and put them into a '55 truck?
