You know my Stihl dealer has told me I really need to buy thier canned gas mix. No ethanol and higher octane. He says at $8 for I believe around 2 quarts it is a great deal. My chain saw is over 10 years old and my weed eater is about 15. I have used pump gas and Stihl oil religiously and never touched the carbs on either. They don't burn a lot of fuel but a brand new still carb for my weed eater is about $35 dollars. I probably have saved hundreds on fuel vs the canned stuff so I figure if I have to buy a new carb someday I am ok with that. I told the dealer this in front of a customer and watched her put the can right back on the shelf.
I really am not trying to say ethanol is great just asking if anyone has anything solid about a problem it directly caused and how we know it was the ethanol? 90 percent is still a hydrocarbon blend with who knows what added.
