Here's my take. I heat with wood as a sole heat source for all of my life. I've averaged around 13 cord/yr usage. My Uses wood as a sole heat source as well so we cut over 20 cord/yr. I don't use AV Gas as a rule, just try to find alcohol free. When they first started adding it I noticed issues with the fuel lines becoming gummy or swelling to where they would leak. Then the carb diaphrams would get all swelled or wouldn't seal the flappers correctly causing idle issues if it would run at all. Since going back to non alcohol I have not had any issues. To save Hundreds of dollars in fuel over the years you must cut a lot more wood and weed whip more than me. I go through at max 20 gallons a season and the extra $1.00/gallon is worth it to me. Just not having to work on it or have the downtime when I should be sawing is a priority in my book.

I worked on a farm and still have a lot of friends who do. I'll run it in an everyday vehicle as it flushes through and seems to take it okay. Stuff that sits, a different story in my book. My local Stihl dealer sells fuel as well. They aren't as high as yours but the mechanic that works there agrees about it being bad. He told me he told the owner not to sell the fuel as it made him assured to be be busy year round with repairs. Owner told him he didn't want to be forced to hire more mechanics.

For the average homeowner, one dedicated 5 gallons of gas will last them a long time. Lawn mowers seem to take it okay although I did have to replace the lines on my rider last year though.

I'm glad you have had no issues. It's not fun when you do. I just feel there are better uses for corn.
