I'm so thankful & appreciative that you've undertaken this huge project for us. Drums are getting harder & harder to find within spec without having oversize linings installed etc. All that said, I challenge you to grab four nos hubs & bolt 4 of your drums up. There's zero chance that they will be within spec for runout.
I take huge issue with this because the power wagon brakes work excellent when set up properly the way they were designed. I'd never install discs on a truck I own because it's unnecessary. That said, of thwbtrucks I have owned...which is lots...only one was set up properly & it was built by a reputable shop.
No way those drums will work as designed without turning after mounting to its hub it will spend its life with.
I guess it depends on ones standards & I think your standards are high judging by this product.
Look...it's an easy thing to prove or disprove. Let's mount a few up & get a dial gauge set up & get to the bottom of it. I'll make you a deal...if you take 10 hubs & 10 drums...measure them all & if they're within dodge tolerance, I'll pay for all your labor.
Seems reasonable...no?
I've personally done the test but there's none believers & so I'm willing to pay if you prove it's unnecessary.
