A couple of other options too. These guys will make any plate you want with anything on it matching your states original date and color layout. If you have an old dead plate that is beyond restoring, have them make another set with that number and if you'd carry the original and display the copy, no one will give you any grief.

You can also get a personalized plate in your states current layout and have a year on manufacturer plate made by these guys with your numbers/letters. State gets their extra money and you have the plate you want.
