Oh you forgot the fact that, in spite of macho bravado, These trucks had virtually no safety features that are found in modern trucks which are required for high speed driving...No collapsible steering columns, no seat belts (although to add them is a no brainer), no crumple zones on sheet metal to absorb kinetic energy, no airbags and so on. Lets face it, highway deaths in the good old days far out numbered those of today and there are even more cars on the road today going a whole lot faster. Enough said.
