I have an M37 that someone put a civilian distributor into; without also changing to the civilian oil pump.

I was going to go ahead and put a civilian oil pump into it to prevent the wobbling distributor from doing damage to the block’s distributor bushing when it occurred to me that it might be better to go back to the military distributor instead. Why you ask – other than for originality??

Rats !!!, that’s why. Let me explain.

The truck has to stay outside. No matter what I do, rats get into it. They need to chew on stuff to stay alive and they love spark plug wires – which I end up purchasing in bulk for all my vehicles.

Does anyone have any experience to show that the steel braid surrounding the military style wires will prevent the little buggers from eating the wires? How expensive are the wires and plugs? Any recommendations on where to get them?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Leo
