That would be good if you can get the boots off one end of the wires so you don't have to slip it over the boots. Shrink tubing is available everywhere these says -- auto parts, hardware stores, harbor freight, etc. To be really good, you can get some that is coated on the inside with hot-melt glue. It's used for making waterproof splices, and it would be sure to stay in place on the wires.
