I made a simple frame with a wheel winch to hold the spare up under the chassis about level with the back of the cab. It should be fine there for most times and it's easy to handle - I figure if I'm in real 4x4 territory and might need extra clearance, I'll tie it on the bed. You gotta figure how you will get the wheel up behind the cab, unless you had a wheel carrier like the CMP trucks use.
