5 Speed behind a 230 or 251?

How difficult would it be to put a modern 5 speed trans behind a 230 or 251? Would the later model bellhousings that accept a 420 also accept any later 4 or 5 speed trans? If so, which model?

Also, are there any of these 4/5 speeds that have input shaft that would mate with a 230 or 251?

One application of this setup would be in a 48 Ply, so the problem of the extra trasmission length is not an issue there.
