Tape Deck help Needed

I have a Delco/Bose AM/FM/Cassette Tape unit that has a problem. The Radio portion works great. When you insert a Cassette Tape, one of three things happen;

1. Tape is immediately ejected

2. Tape tries to continuously reverse directions...then ejects

3. Tape will play the tape for a second or two, then eject.

I have tried many different tapes, all the same result. These tapes all play in my Ram sound system.

I believe this is a mechanical issue. Has anyone ever had this problem and fixed it ?
