If you just want to throw resumes around, I've been a Union Carpenter, Superintendent, Project Manager and Owner, for over 41 years, with more gross sales than you mention, but that's neither here nor there, I'm not here to have a pissing contest with a Lowe's stock holder, just trying to pass along factual information for those who might be interested.
It's VERY rare to find WCLB graded lumber at HD and Lowe's. Some of the plywood does have an APA stamp, but not all.
I don't know why your panties are in a wad, unless you have stock in the big boxes or a job coming up for inspection...= ), but I have seen a few loads of 4x's with "Select" on them, and a few 2x12's with #2 and # 1, but not Select Structural. I was there today also, none of the 2x4 studs are graded with WCLB stamps.
The bottom line is check the lumber there before you buy, if your job requires inspection, be sure the lumber you buy there is legitimately stamped.
By the way, if your company does 50 million a year and is buying lumber at Lowe's or Home Depot, they've got some real cost issues.
If I'm dropping $15,000- $20,000 on a lumber order, it's coming from a mill with a proven quality record, not the propellers that HD and Lowe's sell......
