No offense to anyone who has restored their truck to that kind of condition.....
I wouldn't walk ten steps out of my way to look at it.....There were a couple of these trucks at the last IA rally (so I'm told) Again no offence to the owner...but...He didn't even park them out in the grass with the other trucks? He had to have a building to himself because he had spent so much money on these trucks...I did'nt think I missed much by not walking the ten feet out of my way to go see them. While they sat in the building the working trucks played! And the smiles were obvious to the spectators that this is what it was all about.
Whats the point? Once that has been done it has removed anything interesting about the truck (to me) and has become folly! (again ..to me)
Something to bring out and polish once in awhile (look don't touch!) Must be the kid in me...I want to see mud clods falling off it, I want to see the front window held open by a stick.. I want to see a home made lock out hub that someone with no money devised to reduce vibration..I want to see where Timmy dented the tailgate backing it into the barn for his dad to unload a load of grain...I want to see the pencil writing on the cab that the farmer used to keep track of his cattle when he was out in the field...
Sun burned paint...One windshield wiper that works (passenger ;) side)... Frayed winch cable...Bowed tailgate...Broken speedo...Noisy transfer case....and the smell of old gearlube!
