they bend only when being installed, thereafter they are SPINNING, the only thing that matters is the total angle and the alignment of the two end shafts-transfer case shaft and pinion shaft MUST be parallel (in 2 directions- here I'll agree). The angle of a PW's shaft wouldn't be any worse than many trucks on the road, try it and see if it helps the vibes. I believe the factory didn't do it this way because they were dealing with new components for a customer with deep pockets who didn't have to run 50 year old parts.
