Try calling Boyces in Ogden Utah. I found one out there and it was only $100. He has a ton of military axles and so forth. Ask for the owner as he is the only one who knows what he has. The number is 801-397-0007. You could also call Hafers in Salt Lake. They used to have a ton of that stuff. Right now they are selling everything off before they die totally, so they don't have much anymore. You can find them at hafers.net.

As far as running you stock axle off the brake drum of the t-case, the angles would be two extreme. In normal operation the u-joints of a drive line are only bending in one direction. If you were to run the driveline from the e-brake of the t-case to the non-centered PW axle then the u-joints of the driveline would be bending in two different directions at once, which is way too extreme.

When I have tried to incorporate u-joint into some of my machine designs at work I have run into walls when trying to get u-joints to operate at any kinds of speed when bending in two directions at once.
