"never had the gvwr as the ford did"
Dodge (and for a time International) has ALWAYS had a higher GVWR than the other trucks in the big three. That is how they made their reputation. When you make a blanket statement like that, base it on fact and not guesswork. Since the beggining of the civilian 4x4 market, both gm and ferd have used Chrysler Corp. built transfer cases, and until recently all three have shared Dana axles. ferd was only good until about 1918, specifically because every ferd that was ever built up to that time was built by the Dodge Brothers.
If I had to guess, I'd say that Joe didn't pull our posts because of the content but because of the choice of words. Children read this forum and we need to keep that in mind and our language clean. Since I copied your inapropriate choice of words I am guilty also.
Every auto maker has good and bad products, you can get a good model from any one of them and you can get a lemon fron anyone of them. I chose my brand based upon th equality and corporate philosophy. Therefore I will never own a gm product, they make too many vehicles to maintain an acceptable quality control, they are the McDonalds of the auto Industry, low buck sop for the masses. ferd has let me down too many times with cheap shoddy products that fell apart around me. In between my misadventures with ferds I have owned 14 Chrysler products, I have put over 385,000 on a '74 Dodge work truck without problems. Dodge has had their corporate problems, but the hard work put into their products by the men and women in the factories has always made the trucks stand out.
