Not sure if you were referring to me or the other Matt, when you mentioned "politically correct apologist posts," but as far as defending Ford or GM, I didn't intend to defend anyone, but just to tried to point out some close-mindedness amongst our great bunch of folks. There are plenty of good trucks and bad ones from all makes, and all companies have had their good periods and bad periods.
As far as talking trash about Dodges, I did not see the posts from a few days ago, so I don't know what "trash" talk was posted. However, if any trash was talked, then you are correct in saying that a guy shouldn't come to a Dodge site and talk trash about Dodges not expect to get some negative responses.
Anyway, I just felt I had to jump in because I have a hard hard time not shaking my head in disbelief at anyone who refuses to acknowledge that there are ever any good brand-x products, or that there are ever any bad products made by his preferred brand. It reminds me of a very close-minded guy I used to work with, who drove nothing but Fords and said he had always gotten 300,000+ miles out of every Ford he'd ever owned, and he said he'd never own a Dodge or Chevy. The fact that he didn't believe there was a bad Ford was just as ludicrous as some folk's beliefs that there is never a good Ford or Chevy or a bad Dodge.
For every person who gives an example of a Dodge, Ford or Chevy that was a piece of crap, there are just as many people (or more) who can give examples of Dodges, Fords or Chevy's that were great rigs.
Anyway, I guess this is getting kind of old.
