Hi Keith,

Thanks for the tip! I looked and mine is bolted to the crank, it's a 66-vet engine, with vortex double camel heads, 10.5 compression, roller lifters with stock cam, dual closed plane GM intake with Edelbrock 500cfm carb, and GM HEI ignition. The guys that rebuilt it estimated 325+ hp and the GM dual closed plane provides a wide torque band. I should have plenty of HP/torque to move the truck along at 60mph around 2600rpm for a nice cruiser and hopefully not too bad on gas milage. I have the 4.89s and 38” 1100 XLs on combat rims so a little more power was needed. I rebuilt the SM420, with new shafts and replaced only the gears that had bronze bushings, so it should be quiet. The cab trans cover with the M37 seal and leather cover around the shifter tower will keeps levers from rattling and help keep heat/noise out. I’m not sure yet what I’ll do for mufflers, glass packs or something else that’s SS metal. I haven’t looked at PTOs yet, I just want to get it on the road for now. I hope to get it on the road by this summer. Thanks again!
