The tire industry is the problem. Anybody with a shred of sennse knows narrower tires will work better in mud or snow, but the industry continues making fat wide tread tires because they are what buyers think look cool.
Most tall, narrow tires are bias ply and as Marty so eloquently described...they run like crap.
