Purchased new in Edmonton Alberta, 1952, by Canadian Coachway owner Mickey Collins. The bus line served from Edmonton Ab and points north to Whitehorse Yukon. PW was based for first use in Foc Creek Ab. to assist busess on muddy highway 43, from Whitecourt to Valleyview Ab. The PW was painted red and white to match bus line colors. Remained in service out of Coachways Edmonton bus barns until about 1980 when Coachways was sold to International Utilities. Mickey Collins retired to his farm just west of Edmonton and retained ownership of the PW. The PW, saw light duty hauling hay to his cattle, until 1984 when I purchased it. I then drove it about 20 miles to my yard in Edmonton and commenced a frame off restortion.
Body and fram bead blasted and no rust discovered. Very little body damage. Painted to original deep blue color. Engine rebuild, new brakes, new gas tank, conv. to 12V, new upholstry, new glass, new tires, rewire etc.
Working on since 1984, with about 15% to go! The original box and rear fenders are ready to assemble. Have new Fargo tail gate!
goal is to keep maily original. Has been kept inside heated garage since 1984.
