This DODGE POWER WAGON has an interesting history. Under government ownership until 1963, it was acquired by a concrete company, along with 5 other power wagons to be used in inclement weather conditions. specifically, the contractor utilized the 4x4 capability of each truck to drag concrete forms and perform a multitude of arduous tasks. However, one truck in the lot caught the eye of the owner, as it was in particularly good shape. It had a cover over the bed, which was full of electrical equipment, and only had 12,000 miles on the odometer. Because of its good condition and relatively low mileage the new owner moved the truck to his ranch in Eastern Colorado. It was to be outfitted with a snow plow, but the plan never reached fruition. Seldom driven, it only rolled an additional 1,200 miles in the next 28 years. We bought the truck in 2012 and had it shipped to us in California. With the exception of patching a couple screw holes in the firewall and doors, the body of the truck has not been repaired by us. We added power steering, vacuum powered brakes (front disc), new glass, custom built wheels, new leaf springs all around and rebuilt all running gear. The engine was given special treatment with custom rods and pistons, a custom camshaft build from Dema Elgin along with crank balancing and nitriding from Bailey Brothers helped this 230 produce, 225 lb/ft of torque at 2,700 RPM and 150 horsepower at 4500 RPM.
