This truck has a typical unique mixture of 1946 parts. The front and rear spring-to-frame brackets are the early 1946 type. The lower rear of the cab has the unique 1946 shape for clearance to the frame rails. The doors are of the early type with stampings that will not accept vent windows. It, however, does not have some of the other unique features that are commonly found on 1946 WDX models, such as: hood grounding straps and knockout plate on firewall for military wiring harness. It also never had any of the accessories that usually designates a "custom" cab, such as: driver side arm rest, interior light, and air ride seat. It does have a MoPar Deluxe Model 36 heater that is commonly found in early trucks, but with an incorrect control and no defroster. The truck apparently has 4.89:1 differential gearing, determined by the presence of the narrower wheels with correct 1946 date codes, smaller lock rings, and 7.50 x 16 tires. There is no indication that this truck ever had a winch. The original engine was removed sometime before the current owner bought it 20 years ago.
