this is 50 year old technology so you need to
get old technical manuals that apply to the tires and wheels. as the 9.00x16 tire was used into the 60's and early 70's i use a 1971 Tire & Rim Association tech year book
which lists the 9.00x16 tire and approved rim
size and type. ie 6.50H16 forget the rim protector rib - the 9.00x16 is just not designed for the small 5.50x16 rim and that in it's self might make it a safety issue.
